Indexhibit Help

Edit an exhibit

This is your exhibit.
You can Edit your exhibit and a various options in this page.

Editing the title/renaming an exhibit

You can rename or edit the title of your exhibit by clicking on the title of your exhibit.
Edit the title, hit the save button and you're done.

Note that when editing the title of the exhibit you may need to update the url of your exhibit as well. Do this by setting Publish to Off and then On again. For more information about this check the Publish section further down this page.

Text-area content box and basic html markup

In the text-area content box you can type text for your exhibit.
This can be anything: just text, text to accompany your media or even code.

Just above the text-area content box there are html markup buttons to help you insert basic html markup.
Highlight the part of the text that you want wrapped up in the html tag and click a button...

b will make the text bold
i will make the text italic
u will make the text underlined
sm will make the text smaller and
h will highlight the text.

When editing in the text box area you need to click the disk/Save button (the disk button located on the top-right of the text box area).

Making links

Right next to the text editing markup tools you'll notice a link button.
With the link button you can make any text in the text-area content box into hyperlinks.

Highlight text and click the link button. A modal pop-up window will show up.
If you want your text to redirect to a webpage in your site, click the dropdown menu under Site link and then click the Submit button just below.

If you want your text to redirect to any url (an external url for example), make sure the hyperlink radio button is selected, insert the desired url in the text box below and hit the Submit button. If you want your text to become an email link, select the email radio button, type the email and hit the Submit button.

Your highlighted text should be now wrapped in a hyperlink html tag (don't forget to hit the disk/Save button).

The green P

On the top left above the text box area you'll see a green P button.
This means that page processing is on - paragraphs and break tags in your text area will remain intact.
Clicking it will turn gray and page processing is off - now you can use code in the text-area content box as you would with a code editor. More about the green P on the Custom HTML Text Input page.

Disk/Save button

The disk/Save button is very important as mentioned above - it should be clicked to update your site each time you make a change in the text area.

Publish On/Off

When you first create your exhibit Publish is set to Off.

Set Publish to On when you are done editing and ready to publish it (this includes it in the index of your site).

Switching Publish to Off and then On again will update the url address of your exhibit and use the existing title of your exhibit.
